Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One child was strapped onto my back, while the other crawled in the playground. I worked 12 hour days over months of sanding, and removing wallpaper, with one child. Ha! The home was starting to look good, but there were a few things that needed to be left. It would take time, money and my favorite shopping for furniture to decorate this home. In order to stay in the realm of budgets, I took to taking my kids to estate sales in search of diamonds. Every week, we spent Thursday to Saturday at estate sales and garage sales purchasing old and brand new furniture. Then I repainted and smoothed the driveway in the week. The look was similar to the picture below... This is when my interest in restoring furniture began. I kept on restoring furniture even after we had completed the renovation of our home. There was a place on the market in town that I could sell my items. I eventually had so many pieces I didn't think of a solution and my storage space was a mess. Open houses were held at my house where 1 000 people could visit over a weekend, and they could purchase anything on the first level. My venture Growing Days began here. The business I was running was growing however my family was also growing. It was like I had found the perfect equilibrium between motherhood and starting my new business. Growing Days seemed like the perfect match. Nora came into our lives in 2013 and became our fourth baby. My business's direction was excellent, however I was forced to get some down time. I took a pause from making vintage furniture, and slowed down my pace to be at home to help my children. It was just what I needed. Within a couple of months, the phone began to start to. People contacted me asking to assist them in interior decor and home renovations. These were mostly customers who visited my house for furniture. It didn't seem long until I had a fully-fledged home renovation company. I began by taking clients one by one with a speed I could be confident in. Had you told me my venture would end up being the basis for a DIY Network show, I would probably have laughed. Actually, I smile a little when I remember the episode.
